Here i intend to write and discuss my workings as an amateur radio operator (ham), my shack (equipment), worked stations of note and progress through my training and development in the hobby.
The shack
I am currently working with the following equiptment from my QTH located:
IO 94 mg (WAB)
- Yaesu Ft-450
- MFJ-940 travel tuner
- Mason EP-9000 PSU
- 1/2 Size G5RV wire dipole- on washing-line atm!
- Very old morse key from a junk sale
- Linux PC running Ubuntu for logging, i use Xlog software
My current licence allows me to run at 50w, yet managed to work New England USA last Saturday (to N2RJ).
My previous (foundation) licence was as M3ZMS, both licences i have obtained through the help of Scarborough Amateur Radio Society and it’s training group, website found here.
